Lies, Lies,
LIES
The
Enemy will not see you vanish into God’s company without an effort to reclaim
you!-C.S. Lewis
When we hear
the word lies it just sets a negative tone. I don’t believe any of
us like to be surrounded by lies, we don’t enjoy the company of those that
continually tell lies, and if you have ever told a lie it causes you to feel
saddened that you have said such a thing. (or at least hopefully you feel sad
about it).
The thought of lying makes me think of the beloved childhood story Pinocchio. Pinocchio is a tale enjoyed by generations, yet what if it was true! What IF OUR noses grew every time we told something that was less than the truth. What a sight that would be?!
The truth is
none of us are perfect, and each of us at times have found ourselves in that
age old situation of having to dig ourselves out of a pit that we dug ourselves
in! And what about those times in life when dealing with others who are telling
lies about YOU that just aren’t true!!
It’s just not fun is it?
In the Word of God, we are reminded that our number one enemy is the devil. The Word says that he is the father of all lies. (John 8:44)
Everyday
even as believers we have to contend with the lies of the enemy! He tries to
convince us that we are defeated, that we will never make it and he wants you
to live a life that is lonely and miserable. He wants you to believe that your
miracle is never coming and that God must have nothing good planned for you. The devil will tell you whatever lie he can to
detour you from receiving all that God has for you! Don’t believe it!! The
things the devil is saying to you and about you are NOT THE TRUTH!
God’s Word is truth and declares that you are a “Child of the King”!
Psalm 126:3 The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
I absolutely love this promise in the Word!! Jeremiah 29:11(NET) For I know what I have planned for you, says the Lord. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.’ ( There is that HOPE again that we shared about in last week’s devotion!! J)
What are you choosing to believe about yourself and your situation today? Let’s choose to believe the Words of the Lord!! Even though your situation and circumstance may seem dark today, His light can shine through the darkness to bring VICTORY!!
Be reminded that as we love the Lord he is working all things for our GOOD! (Romans 8:28)
Dear friends, Flee from the lies and embrace the TRUTH today!!!
God Bless!
